    Dustin Lozano

    Overview

    Dustin Lozano is a shareholder at Hunt Ortmann and handles construction, business, and real estate matters. He represents clients through all stages of litigation. In addition to trial and arbitration experience, Mr. Lozano has successfully handled cases before the California Courts of Appeal.

    Mr. Lozano represents clients from all areas of the construction industry, including, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, material and equipment suppliers, and design professionals. Mr. Lozano handles a variety of construction and business litigation issues, including, mechanics liens and breach of contract claims.

    Prior to joining Hunt Ortmann, Mr. Lozano worked in the construction industry. His work in construction provides a practical understanding of the industry.

    REPRESENTATIVE WORK

    • Prevailed at trial on behalf of general contractor against owner obtaining a $400,000 judgment. Following trial, collected the judgement against owner through judgment enforcement.
    • Prevailed at trial on behalf of owner against general contractor. Following trial, recovered the judgment against the general contractor through judgment enforcement.
    • Successfully argued before the California Court of Appeal preserving lower court judgment on behalf of client.
    • Following a multi-week arbitration, prevailed on behalf of owner client against contractor and developer.
    • Recovered over $11 million for subcontractor client at mediation against large international company project owner.
    • Recovered principal balance owed, interest, and attorney's fees against large public entity on behalf of general contractor client.
    • Obtained $1 million settlement on behalf of minority shareholder client against majority shareholder. As part of settlement, majority shareholder dismissed its action against client.
    • Part of trial team that disgorged general contractor of project payments due to non-licensure following multi-day trial.
