After Hunt Ortmann won a trial verdict in favor of its homeowner client in Glendale Superior Court, the defendant contractor appealed to the Second District Court of Appeal contending that the trial court had erred in applying California’s Home Solicitation and Home Improvement statutes. Following full briefing and oral argument, the appellate court affirmed the trial court’s decision in favor of the homeowner, thus preserving Hunt Ortmann’s trial victory.
