Hunt Ortmann Palffy Nieves Darling & Mah, Inc. is proud to announce that shareholder, JoLynn M. Scharrer, has been reappointed by the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) as Member of the President’s Advisory Committee on Women in the Legal Profession (“Committee”) for LACBA’s 2024-2025 year.
The Committee members are an essential part of the LACBA’s mission “to meet the professional needs of Los Angeles lawyers and advance the administration of justice”.
Here are some of the initiatives of the Committee and its Members.
- Dedicate its time and energy to promote the full participation of women lawyers in the legal profession.
- Support women in both their professional and personal growth from entry-level to partnership or general counsel.
- Advise on issues related to the careers and advancement of women in the practice of law in Los Angeles.
- Consider matters and engage in activities related to the overall status of women in the legal profession.
- Monitor existing conditions and trends, conduct special programs and make recommendations that aid in the achievement of its goals, including but not limited to, gender pay equity and retention of women in the legal profession.
- Coordinate its efforts with the committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession, and other appropriate committees and affiliated associations.
- Solicit and evaluate nominations for the Elizabeth Kinney LACBA Women Lawyers of Achievement Award.
