Hunt Ortmann Palffy Nieves Darling & Mah, Inc. welcomed several new attorneys to the firm in 2025. This week, the attorney spotlight is Associate, Emily I. McCormick. During law school, Emily developed a strong foundation for construction disputes and litigation through in-house counsel work with general contractors, as well as a demonstration of leadership skills as the Vice President for the Hastings Association of Youth Advocates.
Since joining Hunt Ortmann, Emily has continued to strengthen that foundation working on construction litigation matters representing general contractors, subcontractors, and residential owners. Emily’s work has included commercial and residential matters involving mechanics liens, breach of contract claims, and construction defects.
Emily also coordinates with insurance carriers on matters regarding tender claims, and provides support with case research, discovery efforts, and law and motion practice. She has also attended mediations and represented clients in various court proceedings.
Ms. McCormick earned her law degree with a concentration in Business Law from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). She received her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
