Emily McCormick is an associate attorney at Hunt Ortmann Palffy Nieves Darling & Mah, Inc. Ms. McCormick brings an analytical and business-minded approach to her work, using practical, client-first thinking to anticipate business and litigation strategies. During law school, Ms. McCormick developed a strong foundation for construction litigation through her in-house work with general contractors and plaintiff-side law firm experience. She also demonstrated her leadership skills as the Vice President for the Hastings Association of Youth Advocates.
Since joining Hunt Ortmann, Emily has continued to strengthen that foundation working on construction litigation matters representing general contractors, subcontractors, and residential owners. Emily’s work has included commercial and residential matters involving mechanics liens, breach of contract claims, and construction defects.
Emily also coordinates with insurance carriers on matters regarding tender claims. She provides case support with research, discovery, law and motion practice, and appearing at mediations and various court proceedings.
Ms. McCormick is licensed to practice law in the state of California and earned her law degree with a concentration in Business Law from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). She received her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
