Katrina Yu is an associate at Hunt Ortmann Palffy Nieves Darling & Mah, Inc. handling business litigation, insurance, construction, and employment related matters. Prior to joining Hunt Ortmann, Ms. Yu served as of counsel for a law firm specializing in personal injury matters.
Ms. Yu is a seasoned litigation and trial attorney who has been involved in obtaining several six and seven figure, (as well as one eight figure) settlements and verdicts in the areas of complex business litigation, civil rights, product liability, catastrophic personal injury including sexual assault/molestation and insurance bad faith. To date, Ms. Yu has been awarded over $30 million for her clients through settlements and/or verdicts.
Ms. Yu was selected as a ‘Super Lawyers Rising Star’ from 2015 through 2020, and 2022-2023. She became an associate fellow for The Litigation Counsel of America in 2019. The Litigation Counsel of America is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers.
Ms. Yu is currently a sustaining member of Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), and was a member of Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), and American Association of Justice (AAJ).
Ms. Yu is fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and is well known amongst her peers for her attention to detail, relentless spirit, tenacious attitude, and forensic computer skills.
